Air health resort ReichenauUpon passing Edlach, the road narrows and begins to wind through a large meadow with old fruit trees towards the steep south face of Rax Mountain. It’s not far to the Knappenhof now: only 90 minutes from Vienna and Graz, but a totally different world.

The air is cool and clear, fragrant with the smells of forests, streams and cliffs - which is why the region once served as a health resort in the 19th century. It is enchantingly quiet here. The rustling of the leaves, the occasional birdsong - the plain, with its meadows, forests and rivers, whispers softly, as if in reverence of its mighty neighbour, the mountain.
Listen to this silence while you sunbathe on our south-facing terrace, relax on the meadow, or simply open the window of your room. And if the weather doesn’t cooperate, you can enjoy our exclusive wellness area.

Start the day in the sauna or treat your weary legs to a steam bath after a hike. Afterwards, the indoor relaxation area or our south-facing terrace on the edge of the forest await you.
By the way, the spa at the Knappenhof can be booked as a private spa: that means it would be available exclusively for you and your guests.
