Weddings at Hotel Knappenhof
Whether civil, church or with a wedding speaker: Knappenhof offers the perfect setting for your wedding celebration.
In co-operation with the Reichenau registry office, civil weddings can be officiated at Knappenhof (except in the chapel). A free wedding ceremony is of course possible in all rooms!
Our chapel is dedicated to Hildegard von Bingen. It was consecrated by Cardinal Christoph Schönborn as part of a solemn blessing, but is open to all denominations. Should you wish to have a Catholic wedding, the Raxgebiet parish association will be happy to come to the Knappenhof.

Our kitchen team will spoil you and your guests with an outstanding menu. We follow two different lines in the kitchen:

If you have any special requests for the menu or guests with food intolerances, please let us know so that we can take this into account when planning the menu.
Drinks: We will be happy to send you wine suggestions to match the menu. Non-alcoholic drinks, beer, shandy and coffee are charged at cost.
Agape: Drinks are charged per bottle. We are happy to serve the first course of your menu as a flying buffet at the reception on request. Possible from 4 courses!

Reservation and cancellation policy
Package 1 & 2
To confirm the booking, we ask you to deposit total amount of the package price: 25% within 4 weeks, 25% up to 9 months before the event, the remaining 50% up to 6 months before the event.
This reservation can be rebooked or cancelled free of charge up to 9 months before the event. In the event of cancellation up to 6 months before the event, we reserve the right to retain 50 percent of the deposit, thereafter 100 percent.
Package 3
To confirm the booking, we ask you to transfer the expected total menu turnover as a deposit: 25% within 4 weeks, 25% up to 6 months before the event, the remaining 50% up to 2 months before the event.

FAQs & Extras
Can live music be played?
You are welcome to organise live music for your wedding ceremony and reception. Set-up is possible from 11 a.m. at the earliest on the day of the event. A sound system / AV system is not available and must be brought along. In the case of dance music, we are happy to organise a dance floor to protect the wooden floor in the restaurant as much as possible. Bands, performers and the like must follow the instructions of the service team. In the event of excessive noise disturbance, the service team can have the volume reduced without objection.
Package 3: Night-time quiet from 11 pm must be observed.
Package 1 & 2: Music can be played as long as you wish.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are very welcome! For overnight guests we charge a cleaning fee of Euro 40.
Can confetti, glitter or rice be sprinkled?
No, neither confetti nor glitter or rice may be scattered. Alternatively, soap bubbles, sparklers or balloons can be used. If this rule is disregarded, we will charge a cleaning fee of Euro 200!
What is the night surcharge and how many employees will be needed?
Please note that from midnight, we charge a night surcharge of EUR 50 per employee per hour or part thereof. The number of employees required will depend on the size of your party, the mood of your guests and your programme. For celebrations with a midnight snack and at least 25 people, you will likely need 2 to 3 employees, depending on the amount of work involved.
